Get to know Jaron.

Born and raised amidst the breathtaking beauty of Tuolumne County, Jaron Brandon has a spirit woven from the same rugged granite that forms the backbone of our Sierra Nevada. With a vision for future prosperity, he’s a native son of Jamestown and Columbia that embodies our rural values: honesty, courage, independence, a can-do attitude, and a humility rare for those in political office.

These traits that have defined our community for generations are the bedrock of his vision for accountable government, empowering prosperity, and service to our neighbors.

Compassion
From the start.

Jaron’s commitment to Tuolumne County and our community was fostered early on by the influence of his parents, family, and mentors.

His father, Ron Brandon, owner of Live Oak Music for more than three decades, has been a community pillar who has inspired countless musical journeys. Jaron spent many years serving Motherlode’s musical community. Jaron’s father taught him the art of debate, toughness, standing for your beliefs, and serving others.

Jaron’s late mother, Lori Brandon, a renowned and vibrant entertainer, passed away in 2012 after a five-year battle with cancer but lives on in our local culture through the echo of her captivating voice, infectious humor, and kind heart. Lori taught her son to love the community, follow his passions, and “stay scrappy” when times are tough.

A Passion for Service.

It all started with a clipboard registering voters.

The University of California, Merced, was the crucible where Jaron made the choice to raise his hand and get involved. As a first-generation college student, he honed his leadership abilities from a humble voter registration clip board. He later participated in Maddy Institute internships with both Republican and Democratic elected officials and eventually as president of his University Associated Students.

Only a phone call away.

Jaron has proven himself not only a fighter for his district but, importantly, a humble servant leader.

While initially working in the tech industry, Jaron realized his happiness didn’t hinge on salary but serving something greater. As so many of those born here do, he returned home to Tuolumne County to find his calling, moving from managing the family business to volunteering at ReStore to eventually raising his hand when the community needed him.

Since taking office in 2020 as the then-youngest Supervisor in California, Jaron has never been afraid to challenge the status quo. He’s been a passionate advocate for workforce housing, growing our economy, improving public safety services, and setting the county on a stronger financial track.

Most importantly, Jaron’s an elected official proud to be only a phone call away. You will find him actively listening to residents in county meetings, answering messages, and always willing to collaborate with others to achieve their goals.
