15 cases now.Β πŸ˜’Β It is becoming more difficult to "attest" that we do not have uncontrolled community transmission. Keeping a handle on that is a prime requirement for moving forward –– or backwards –– in opening up business and normality.

I encourage you –– if you are asked to cooperate with a contact tracer, or to self-quarantine, or take a COVID test, please please please follow the expertise of our local public health staff. It's not and shouldn't be about politics. We pay these experts to do their job and their work is important.

Even if you are unconvinced of the value of PPE and current public hygiene protocols, or believe the state shouldn't have shutdown authority, we can all agree that the State at least has the CAPABILITY to regress us to Stage 2. There will be many lawsuits from this, but our local economy doesn't have the 2-3 years it takes to settle class-action litigation.

I want us to do everything possible to make sure that doesn't happen for the sake of our local businesses and entrepreneurs. We were moving forward. This is a step backward. But it can still be contained again.

I have more to say later regarding the troubling letter sent by Supervisor Rodefer but for now, have hope. Be safe. Maximum effort.
