If You Hurt, We Hurt

County Supervisors need a pay-cut. If they are placing a 3-week furlough on County staff due to COVID, it's a moral mandate to stand in solidarity with their sacrifice and not above them.

So here's what I propose:

A matching 6% salary cut (about $3,000) for the duration of this furlough. It won't solve the budget, but it indicates the commitment of our leadership to staff, to the value they provide, and that we are all in this together.

If elected, I pledge to take the same paycut so long as the furlough is still in place and I challenge the sitting County Supervisors to show leadership by taking this "6% Pledge"

I don’t remember seeing you at the podium in 2017 when the supervisors voted to give themselves a raise. In fact, the only one I remember giving a coherent argument against their increase was me. Check the video. I also suggested that if they were going to vote a raise for the position then they should at least not take advantage of it personally. But they ignored that advice and took immediate benefit from their own vote.
