Governor Newsom put a moratorium on evictions March 27th, but it expires June 1st. That means if you're behind on rent, you may have received or will receive 3-day notices soon.

However, a second CA executive order was just released allowing local jurisdictions to extend the moratorium, and action needs to be taken.

There may be HUNDREDS of people facing eviction in our county. The economic disruption of COVID is severe –– we can't compound that with a wave of newly homeless people struggling to find a place, maybe without deposit money and while big cuts are made to services.

In my opinion, the county needs to extend the moratorium for two months for those unable to work due to COVID-19.

We need time for a law on repayment terms to landlords and property owners (who also need the income). Tenants need a clearer date to return to work, find new employment, or look for alternate housing. And we need time to consider other options to soften the blow.
